Pia Chevalier

Pia Chevalier is an independent designer and ceramist who trained in design and craftsmanship, specifically in decoration and surface treatments, at the École Boulle. She is currently based in Poush, Aubervilliers.

Both raw and refined, Pia Chevalier's work manages to unite two

characteristics that are seemingly opposed, but which allow her creations to be rooted in both tradition and contemporaneity. While her most iconic works are in ceramic, Pia is also skilled in working with steel, brass, fabric and copper. She chooses, according to her whims, to design everyday objects such as vases, lamps, cups and tables, or ‘pure’ sculptures with no utilitarian value.

Jonathan Roze has had the pleasure of presenting Pia's work since April 2025 and the gallery's installation in Brittany.

The new ceramics created for this inaugural exhibition are sculptures rather than vases. They embody her recent research into an enamel with an almost marbled effect. As delicate and elegant as ever, each one is unique.
